The combination of white light with ultra violet light has proved to be the most successful and reliable system for detecting forged currency. It enables the user to carry out quick and accurate checks on the security features which have been incorporated into the design of bank notes. These checks are endorsed by The Bank of England and other State Banking Organisations throughout the world.

Note Check 3
The ultra violet light picks out notes that should instantly be regarded as suspect, should they fluoresce and require immediate close inspection. It has also proved very useful for examining security documents such as cheques, bank drafts, building society pass books, passports, firearms certificates etc, particularly where tampering becomes evident in signature and sum amounts areas on these documents.

Many world currencies, in particular Scottish notes, display various security markings which are only visible under a UV light.

The white light source on the Note Check 3 is constant and flicker free, which provides a good base for examining watermarks, print quality, a sharply defined metallic strip and the 'barring' effect which although a very important security feature to check, is not mentioned in The Bank of England's Guideline Handbook.

Along with many other countries, The Bank of Scotland etch the note denomination into the metallic strip which can only be properly examined on the light base.

The light screen on the Note Check 3 is flat and smooth which provides the perfect base for checking the intaglio print (raised print which can be felt by running finder over the note).

The characteristics of the intaglio print should be profound and sharply defined. The white light is ideal for checking the quality of these features.

The Note Check 3 is supplied with full instructions, a quick check card and premises protection label. Although thorough and accurate, this system is quick and easy to use. Anyone, with little or no knowledge of counterfeit currency, such as new till staff, can very easily learn from this complete package, exactly what they should be checking, without offending valued customers.
