Mega Electronics

Mr Waris Ali is a teacher of Electronics at Dame Elizabeth Cadbury technology College, and he told us how he introduced a project to year 8s which involves some creative designs with the use of sublimation printing.

Pupils construct a simple electronic circuit using connector blocks, slide switch and motor powered by a 9 volt pp3 battery. Once the circuit has been tested they produce designs for the main body of the helicopter that is laser cut to assemble with propellers and slots for motor mounting and switch mounting. The design they choose will match the exact size of the helicopter body. Once printed pupils have sublimation printed their design directly onto the helicopter.

The project has proved very successful especially with the use of sublimation printing.
